Sony launched the WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones in the global market in May 2022, and audiophiles in India have been waiting for the noise-canceling headphones to come to India ever since. The wait appears to be over, as the Sony WH-1000XM5's official release date has been teased.

Sony has teased the WH-1000XM5 headphones on its Indian website, and Amazon India has also posted a similar teaser. The headphones could be part of the upcoming Great Indian Festival Sale, and Sony could release them in the country on September 23rd.

Sony WH-1000XM5 Headphones Specs

The noise-canceling headphones claim to be the best on the market. They employ eight microphones to help reduce noise in the medium and high-frequency bands. It has the superior audio quality and a distinct design when compared to the XM4. According to the company, it has prioritized comfort. The earcups will be able to rotate sideways but will not be able to fold inwards like the previous generation.

The headphones have 30mm dynamic drivers and wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 5.2. It supports codecs such as SBC, AAC, LDAC, A2DP, AVRCP, HFP-based DSEE, and others. The headphones have a battery life of up to 30 hours with ANC on and up to 40 hours without ANC. The headphones will take 3.5 hours to fully charge and cost 399.99 USD worldwide, which is approximately Rs. 31,650 in rupees. It will be available in black and white.
