Sony WF-C500 Truly Wireless Earbuds with Up to 20 Hours Battery Life and IPX4 Rating Are Now Available in India: Price and Specifications
The Sony WF-C500 is available in India at a reasonable price and features a design that is similar to Sony's flagship true wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM4.

Sony has announced the release of its latest true wireless earbuds, the Sony WF-C500, in India. The Sony WF-resemblance C500's to the company's flagship true wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM4, is one of the first things a buyer will notice about it. The C500 has a similar round earbud design, as well as an elongated charging case with rounded sides for a more comfortable in-hand feel.
Sony WF-C500: features and specifications
To begin with, the Sony WF-C500 true wireless earbuds feature 5.8mm dynamic Neodymium audio drivers, which is to be expected given the low price point. Sony is marketing the earbuds' support for the company's proprietary Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), which is an algorithm-based upscaling feature for audio tracks streamed via Bluetooth. The earbuds also support Sony's Headphones Connect app, which can be used to personalize the sound profile provided by the earbuds.
However, the C500 lacks active noise cancellation, a feature that has become increasingly common in true wireless earphones priced around Rs 5,000. It does charge quickly — Sony claims that you can get about an hour of music playback time in 10 minutes of charging. The earbuds are rated to provide 10 hours of music playback or 5 hours of continuous voice calling on a single charge cycle. This capacity is doubled with the charging case.
Support for Sony's software-based 360 Reality Audio for spatial audio, as well as controls for music playback and calls directly through buttons on the earbuds themselves, are among the other key features and specifications. The earbuds are also IPX4 rated for durability, which means they can withstand sweat and splashes while working out.
Price and availability
The earbuds will be available for purchase in India on Sunday, January 16, according to Sony. The Sony WF-C500 is available in black, white, orange, and green, and can be purchased from Sony's own online and offline stores, as well as all of the usual multi-brand retail outlets and e-commerce sites. In India, the earbuds will cost Rs 5,990.
