On March 23, nothing confirmed that it is working on its first smartphone. The Nothing Phone (1) will be released in the summer of 2022. The company did not reveal the exact launch date or month, but it did confirm some key details. To begin, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon chip. There are no surprises here, as Qualcomm has invested in Nothing, implying that the Nothing Phone will include a Snapdragon chipset. The Nothing OS, which is based on Android, was also confirmed at the event.

Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, also teased the design of the upcoming smartphone. A new concept render of the Nothing Phone (1) has surfaced online based on the teaser. Nothing Phone (1) will be launched in India and other markets in the coming months. A concept render of the phone has surfaced online ahead of the launch. The concept sketch depicts the design elements of the first Nothing smartphone, which will be released later this year.

According to the concept render shared on Twitter by Ben Geskin, the phone has a dual-camera setup on the back. This is similar to the design of the iPhone X camera module, which houses a dual-camera setup and an LED flash. The wireless charging coil is outlined in the centre of the back panel. Max Jambor believes the phone will include MagSafe-like charging support.

It's rumoured that the Phone (1), like Nothing's Ear (1), will have a semi-transparent design language. The power and volume buttons will be on the right edge. A hole-punch display will be used on the phone. Geskin anticipates that the phone will have a hole-punch cutout in the centre.

Nothing has confirmed that the phone will ship with Nothing OS. It will be based on Android and will include the best features that the platform has to offer. Pei also stated that the OS will provide a fast, smooth, and consistent user experience. Furthermore, the phone has been confirmed to receive three years of software support and four years of security updates. In April 2022, the Nothing launcher will be available on select Android smartphones.
