MediaTek Dimensity 2000 key features leaked
Digital Chat Station, a popular Weibo tipster, has shared some critical features of the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 processor on the site. The forthcoming flagship chipset will have a tri-cluster octa-core CPU design and a 4nm TSMC manufacture process.
The chipset will have one high-performance Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores for medium and power-efficient workloads, according to Digital Chat Station. This will be MediaTek's first SoC with a Cortex-X2 processor. While the addition of the Cortex-X2 core will undoubtedly improve CPU performance, it will also improve the chipset's gaming performance. This is also the first time the semiconductor manufacturer has used the Cortex X core CPU.
According to the source, the Dimensity 2000 SoC will include the Arm Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, which is currently the most advanced and best smartphone GPU available. This GPU should outperform the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1000 Plus, both of which use the Mali-G77 GPU.
According to the leaked information, the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 will compete with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 888 and Samsung's upcoming Exynos flagship processors. The chipset is planned to be released in the fourth quarter of 2021 or early in 2022.
The Dimensity 1200 is the company's current flagship chipset, with one Ultra Arm Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3GHz, 3 x Arm Cortex-A78 cores rated at 2.6GHz, and 4 x Arm Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz.
