To streamline operations, OnePlus merged its Research and Development (R&D) staff with that of its sister firm, Oppo. The connection, according to the company, would help to improve the user experience. It was stated a few days ago that the two businesses will issue an integrated software upgrade that will incorporate both Oxygen OS and ColorOS.

According to a recent announcement from the corporation, this new integrated software will be available next year. However, it appears that the device's beta version is currently being tested on current OnePlus flagship phones. A live image of the OnePlus 9 Pro running ColorOS 12 on Android 12 has surfaced online.

The device is the worldwide variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro, with the model number LE2121. The device's settings page discloses that it has 12GB of RAM and runs ColorOS 12, which is based on Android 12. ColorOS 12 has already been released in China by Oppo. In terms of functionality and settings, the international edition is expected to include a few changes.

The firm stated at the time of launch that the ColorOS 12 upgrade would be available for the Chinese models of the OnePlus 9 series in November 2021. Other OnePlus phones that are ColorOS 12 eligible will receive the upgrade in 2022. At this time, there is no word of a worldwide release.

OnePlus, on the other hand, appears to be testing the ColorOS 12 update on several foreign models. It's likely that the 9 Pro spotted testing the ColorOS 12 update is an Indonesian model. OnePlus said earlier this month that a unified version of ColorOS and OxygenOS would be released next year.

OxygenOS will be accessible on OnePlus phones sold in international countries, the firm previously said. Following a series of events, it appears that the firm has opted to abandon OxygenOS in favour of launching the Android 12 update with ColorOS 12 as a skin on top.

There is no news on when Android 12 will be released for OnePlus smartphones in international markets. Until then, you may check out the new ColorOS 12 features by clicking here.
