The Fantastic Beasts films, which take place 70 years before The Sorcerer's Stone, have expanded the series. So, if you want to watch the Harry Potter films in order, start with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is set in 1926 and stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. The events of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald take place in the year 1927. The third Fantastic Beasts film will be released in July 2022, followed by two more films in the Scarmander and Grindelwald narrative.

Then the HarryPotter saga begins, beginning with Sorcerer's Stone and ending with the second portion of The Deathly Hallows, for a total of eight Certified Fresh movies. HOW TO WATCH HARRY POTTER MOVIES IN ORDER

The first film (known in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) captivated us and dragged us into the magical world. We meet HarryPotter (Daniel Radcliffe), an 11-year-old orphan who discovers the truth about his past after being invited to Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Set around 1990-1991, Harry accepts Dumbledore's invitation to Hogwarts, meets long-time pals Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), and even sees Lord Voldemort for the first time. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets picks up where the first film left off, taking place during Harry's second year at Hogwarts. As a funny British magician named Newt (Eddie Redmayne) wanders across New York in 1926, capturing all the magical monsters that have escaped from his bag, viewers are shown the magical world outside of England for the first time.

Unlike Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them do not give viewers a complete picture of the Wizarding World. Instead, the film expands on it, providing those who are unhappy to see Harry's narrative come to an end with more magical adventures to sink their teeth into in the form of a benign spin-off featuring cute (well, mostly cute) critters.

Newt is still traveling around like the Wizarding World's version of a seasoned Pokémon trainer following the events of the first film. As Grindelwald finally makes his move, our favorite magizoologist is soon confronted with new perils and evil figures.

Even die-hard Potter fans may find it difficult to keep up with all of the subplots in this film, which is regarded as one of the lesser chapters in the Harry Potter universe.
