After months of beta testing, Google has officially released Android 12 Update— the latest version of the operating system. The source code for Android 12 has been released to AOSP (Android Open Source Project), and the update will be available for Google Pixel smartphones "in the coming weeks."

Android 12 is the next major version of the Android operating system. The new Material You theme, a notification makeover, a new privacy dashboard, privacy indications, and more are all included in the update.

Android 12 Update Release Date

Android 12 Update has been "officially" published by Google. The new version follows the fifth beta, which was issued in September. Despite the fact that the source has been published to AOSP, Pixel devices have yet to receive their first stable Android 12 upgrade.

Many smartphone makers will announce their intentions for the Android 12 Update rollout once the official upgrade for Google Pixel smartphones is released. Many Android-12-based skins from Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others will be available by the end of the year. When will Android 12 arrive?

Your smartphone manufacturer will determine when the Android 12 upgrade will be available for your handset. Some are quick to release the most recent version, while others wait a year.

The possibility of your device receiving the update is partly determined by the updated policy for your specific device, which determines whether or not it is eligible for an update. The speed with which the Android 12 update arrives will be determined by whether the device is a high-end device or one that was just introduced.

List of Eligible Google Pixel devices

Pixel devices will be the first to receive the Android 12 update after it is released. According to Google, the stable version of Android 12 will be rolled out to the Pixel series "in the coming weeks."

At this time, we don't know if the original Pixel and Pixel 2 lineups will get the Android 12 update. Both devices have outlived their software update support. However, Google may surprise everyone by releasing the Android 12 Update OTP update for the Google Pixel 2 and 2XL.

List of Eligible OnePlus devices

When it comes to Android updates, the OnePlus has always been at the forefront. The company has a reputation for delivering Android updates faster than other smartphone manufacturers. For the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, the first Android 12 Update -based OxygenOS 12 Open Beta is now available.

Although OnePlus devices will get Android 12 Update sooner or later, we don't know whether OxygenOS or ColorOS will be used. The OnePlus 9 China lineup was found running ColorOS 12 instead of the regular HydrogenOS, as OnePlus just announced an OxygenOS and ColorOS merger.

Oppo has, interestingly, established a timeframe for OnePlus devices to receive Android 12 updates. The OnePlus devices that will receive the Android 12 stable upgrade are listed below —

Although OnePlus has not announced that the Nord lineup would receive Android 12 Update, the following Nord devices are expected to receive the update based on the OnePlus update strategy.

List of Eligible Xiaomi Mi and Redmi devices

By the end of the year, Xiaomi is scheduled to start rolling out MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12 Update. MIUI 13 is rumored to be incorporating a number of features from iOS 14.

Xiaomi is already testing the Android 12-based MIUI on its high-end handsets in China, including the Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra. The first batch of devices to receive Android 12 updates has also been verified by the company. List of Eligible Samsung Galaxy devices

Samsung, like other smartphone manufacturers, is preparing to release it's One UI, which is based on Android 12. Samsung has started the One UI 4.0 beta program based on Android 12 Update and is expected to release the final stable version of One UI 4.0 by the end of the year.

The One UI 4.0 beta is currently available for the Galaxy S21 series, which includes the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. In the next weeks, more Galaxy devices are likely to join the One UI 4.0 testing program.
