Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023: Gaming Monitor 4K Top Ultra HD Displays with HDR and more
The best 4K gaming monitor comes with all the bells and whistles a gamer could desire or need.

The Best 4K gaming monitor is the ideal method to justify blowing a lot of money on a high-end graphics card. Especially now, when the few GPUs available are all priced like high-end graphics cards, regardless of the hardware they include.
However, it should be noted that even the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT are capable of 4K gaming. This means that by the time GPU supply recovers to something resembling normalcy, perhaps in late 2023, we may have some next-gen cards on the way. And they should all be capable of 4K resolution.
In most circumstances, you'll want a VA or IPS panel with a refresh rate of at least 60Hz and frame-syncing functionality, such as G-Sync or FreeSync. You'll also have to determine whether you want to upgrade to one of the top gaming TVs for a more immersive experience. That is if you have enough room.
Spending a little more on one of the top 4K gaming monitors is well worth it, especially since it will last you a decade of action-packed next-gen gaming. It'll be capable of producing magnificent images for all those years, spanning multiple incarnations of your Theseus' PC ship. Consider it a long-term investment, but one that you can benefit from right now. Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023

Gaming in 4K is a high-end activity. To achieve reasonable frame rates at such a high resolution, you'll need a massive amount of rendering power. If you have a top-tier graphics card, such as the GeForce RTX 3080, this dream can finally come true.
The LG UltraGear is the only 4K Nano IPS 1ms gaming monitor capable of displaying your next-generation GPU to its full potential. The 144Hz frame rate and 1ms reaction time on this 4K 27-inch HDR monitor are incredible for a 4K monitor. The Nano IPS technology, which provides a broader colour gamut and excellent viewing angles, is the most stunning feature of this LG.
Despite the lack of HDR capabilities, the LG UltraGear 27GN950-B provides a fantastic screen with superb IPS image quality and brilliant colours and contrast in your games. G-Sync provides smooth and stable images in games, and the fast refresh rate and response times back this up. Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023

The XB273K is a serious outstanding 4K monitor that is a near cousin of the Acer Predator X27, which was once at the top of this pile. It captures all of the X27's features while sacrificing very little in order to repackage it in a significantly less expensive form.
The XB273K is now frequently found for around $1,000, making it even more appealing than the Acer X27. The only major difference is the HDR quality, which is somewhat worse on the XB273K. But that's all there is to it. And, given the still-dreadful state of HDR gaming on PC, that's hardly a massive oversight.
You'll still get great picture quality, with great colour vibrancy, contrast, and depth, and the 144Hz refresh rate is ideal for competitive shooters. G-Sync has the best adaptive sync technology, an astounding assortment of ports, and an overall experience that is so well-rounded that you will have no regrets. Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023

-Overdrive often overdoes it
For PC gamers as well as Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 owners, the M28U checks all the boxes.
It comes with a gorgeous 28-inch IPS display that provides superb picture quality and colour depth. The 144Hz frame rate (120Hz on console) and 2ms MPRT response time will, however, be the main selling points for gamers. That's certainly fast enough for our tastes, and looking attractive while doing so is a big plus.
What makes the M28U even more appealing is that it is reasonably priced. It's still a lot of money to spend on a monitor alone, but when you consider what other 4K monitors with this feature set cost, it's as close to a bargain as you'll find at 4K.

The LG 27UL650 is a fantastic 4K gaming display that costs less than $500. This IPS panel display outperforms its predecessor in terms of colour and contrast, as well as gaming input lag.
Let's say you're not only a gamer; this LG display has delectably accurate colour accuracy and HDR10, making watching movies and editing rewarding. The only significant drawback is the monitor's normal 60Hz refresh rate and the lack of built-in speakers, so you'll need to invest in a good pair of headphones and/or desktop speakers. However, we'd prefer that above almost any tinny display speaker in general.

Eve has knocked it out of the park with the Spectrum ES07D03. After a difficult start with its ill-fated journey into the world of tablets, Eve has hammered it out of the park with the Spectrum ES07D03. It's a gorgeous gaming monitor with a lovely LG display and all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern screen. That's the result of Spectrum's crowd-sourced production process, and it appears to have paid well.
Except for those who want good HDR. I was looking for a little more pizazz in my HDR scenes with a peak luminance of 750cd/m2 and a little local dimming in its backlighting array. Regrettably, this is still a problem with PC gaming and monitors. Everything else the Eve Spectrum does, on the other hand, has blown me away. I'm a little bit in love with the LG Nano IPS display, which has brilliant colours and smooth movements.
The Spectrum also supports HDMI 2.1, allowing it to deliver its full 144Hz promise in 4K across PC and next-gen consoles, something that previously required a DisplayPort connection.
The price tag, like any other 4K/144Hz panel, is possibly prohibitive. However, gaming displays are an investment, and this one will outlast your current PC and possibly your future one as well. As a result, it's always worthwhile to spend as much as you can on a new screen, Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023.

Perhaps self-evident, but cramming a lot of high-end capabilities into a panel implies it'll be expensive. The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ is a fantastic monitor, but it is not inexpensive. It money gets you more features than any other display on the market, and that may be enough to set it apart. In addition to the PG27UQ's 4K and HDR-enabled 27-inch display's amazingly clean, bright, and detailed visuals, this monitor also includes Nvidia G-Sync technology, making it an incredible behemoth of a screen. On this practically perfect screen, we do with the contrast was a little better.
The connectors on the back are a little sparse, but you should be able to find everything you need: an HDMI 2.0 input, DisplayPort 1.4, 3.5mm audio, and two USB 3.0 ports. It's also a very well-designed piece of equipment, with the stand properly funneling cables while still looking nice. I really appreciate the ROG eye, which sparkles on whatever surface where the monitor is placed.
The advertised price is rather costly, so it might well put many off, but it will not disappoint those who take the jump, Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023.

The sheer size and magnificence of Philips' 55-inch display giant have me completely enthralled. Aside from Nvidia's ill-fated BFGDs, no other PC monitor compares to this beast. However, despite its outstanding size and speed, there are several flaws that should be examined, even if they aren't deal-breakers.
But first, the positive. This 4K VA panel comes with a DisplayHDR 1000 certification and can render its native resolution of 3840x2160 at up to 120Hz. Unfortunately, the HDMI version for console players is just 2.0, so your next-gen game boxes will be limited to 4K/60. The Series X, on the other hand, will support 120Hz at 1440p, whilst the PS5 will not.
For us PC users, this isn't an issue because the Philips display supports DisplayPort 1.4, allowing us to enjoy the full 4K resolution at a fast 120Hz. This, combined with the screen's brilliant, colourful display, makes it ideal for seamless 4K gaming. And Philips' Ambilight technology, which encircles the back of the display with RGB LEDs that can change hues individually to match the panel's corresponding colour, continues to enchant me.
My only major concerns are with some of the reaction options. Philips offers various levels of SmartResponse to make the huge panel responsive, however the more aggressive you are with those settings, the more inverse ghosting you'll see on high-contrast moving images. I noticed difficulties around the borders of players while playing FIFA in 4K. However, if you're tearing through Doom Eternal, the fluid animation and brilliant colours will be the only things that stand out. Of them, there's also the gibs.

Best 4K gaming monitors FAQ
Is it worthwhile to invest in a 4K gaming monitor for PC gaming?
The first important factor to consider is if you have a PC capable of supporting a 4K gaming monitor. With the step-up to 4K, upgrading to one of the top graphics cards will ensure that your machine isn't just generating a gaming slideshow. It would also be beneficial if you went for larger screen size.
The first 4K monitor we used was beautiful, but it only had a 24-inch screen, so we couldn't fully appreciate the 8.3 million pixels we were producing. When you upgrade to the Philips Momentum 55-inch display, your high-resolution world becomes writ large, Best 4K Gaming Monitors in 2023
How do we test 4K gaming monitors?
There are two major methods for determining whether a screen is the finest gaming monitor material. The first is to use it to play games. Subjectively testing each panel's gaming performance won't necessarily offer you the scoop on a particular screen's details. It will, however, allow you to evaluate the aspect ratio, native resolution, and any gamer-centric technology they have.
This type of side-by-side comparative testing is also useful for identifying the sometimes slight changes between each panel. When you use a screen in solitude, it's easy to lose sight of its flaws as you grow accustomed to them. We can find and highlight specific flaws between displays by testing them back-to-back.
